Karthik Sivakumar (Karthi) is a well-known Tamil film actor in India. He is the son of actor Sivakumar and Surya Sivakumar’s younger brother. On May 25, 1977, he was born in Chennai.
He worked as an assistant director with director Mani Ratnam on the film Aayutha Ezhuthu. Earlier, Mani Ratnam offered him a role in the same film, but Karthi declined and continued as an assistant. Karthi was approached by director Ameer in 2006 to play the lead role in his third film, Paruthiveeran. Karthi begins his acting career with Ameer for Paruthiveeran after receiving a few suggestions from his father and brother.
Paruthiveeran was released in 2007 and became a box office success. Karthi won numerous awards, including Filmfare’s Best Debut and Best Actor.
