Praveen wrote and directed Pothanur Thabal Nilayam, which was produced by Passion Studios in collaboration with Bicycle Cinemas.

Praveen and Anjali Rao star in the film, which also has Jagan Krish, Venkat Sundar, Seetharaman, and others in supporting parts.

Tenma composed the soundtrack for the film, and Sukumaran Sundar shot the cinematography. It’s available on the Aha Tamil OTT platform.

Praveen has recently returned from the United States and is looking for financing from various banks to launch a computer firm. Set in 1990, the most of them have no idea what a computer is and are hesitant to lend the money.

Meanwhile, Praveen’s father works as a postmaster at the Pothanur post office, which lacks adequate security. Someone steals the money while trying to keep it safe, and Praveen’s father is horrified.

Praveen then decides to get the money back, and the rest of the plot revolves around his success or failure.

We have seen so many heist thrillers in the past few years of Tamil Cinema. But it is a valid question to ask, if there has been any heist thriller that has been as rooted as Pothanur Thabal Nilayam.

A team of young, upcoming actors, at the helm of a director who has his signature all over the film, an extremely talented music composer who is just 2-3 films old in the industry, all coming together to create a memorable film.
