Gautham Vasudev Menon wrote and directed the Tamil action/romance film Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu. Silambarasan TR plays the lead in the film. Ishari K. Ganesh is producing the film. AR Rahman composed the music, while Siddhartha Nuni handled cinematography and Anthony edited the film.

The plot revolves around a youngster who moves to the city and struggles to find his and his low caste members’ identities.

On August 6, 2021, the first look poster was released, along with the announcement of the film’s title. Gautham and Silambarasan previously collaborated on the films Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa, Achcham Yenbadhu Madamaiyada, and Karthik Dial Seytha Yenn.
