Udhayanidhi Stalin is a producer and actor in Tamil cinema. M. Karunanidhi, the former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, is his grandfather. M. K. Stalin, the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, is his father. Kiruthiga Udhayanidhi, who also directed the film Vanakkam Chennai, is his wife.
Kuruvi, starring Vijay and Trisha Krishnan, was his first film as a producer. His next project, Aadhavan, was released on Deepavali in 2009. Manmadan Ambu, his third production, was released on December 23, 2010. He also produced the film Ezham Arivu, which starred Surya Sivakumar. He was also a distributor, his first being Gautham Menon’s Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa. In 2010, he released the films Madrasapattinam, Boss Engira Bhaskaran, and Mynaa.
Udhay made his lead acting debut in M. Rajesh’s romantic comedy Oru Kal Oru Kannadi (2012), alongside Hansika Motwani and Santhanam. The film did well at the box office. He was also nominated for a Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut for his performance.
